On Thursday 4 June 2026, Leon Rebello MP, the Federal Member for McPherson, spoke about Varsity Vipers in the House of Representatives in Canberra.
What did Mr Rebello say?
Mr Rebello spoke about joining club President Adam Darragh and our volunteers at the Varsity Vipers summer awards day 2026.
He described a great afternoon celebrating the achievements of the club's hundreds of registered junior players across the season.
He also acknowledged the coaches, volunteers, families, sponsors and organisations who make the club possible.
Where is the speech recorded?
The speech is part of the official Hansard record of the House of Representatives. It was given in the Federation Chamber as a constituency statement on 4 June 2026.
Mr Rebello also wrote to Adam with an extract of the speech, thanking the club for its contribution to the community.
Why does it matter?
Varsity Vipers is run by volunteers. This recognition belongs to every coach, team manager, parent and sponsor who gives their time to junior basketball.
Thank you to Mr Rebello for recognising the Varsity Vipers community in Federal Parliament.
