Varsity Vipers has received a grant from the City of Gold Coast's 2026 Community Projects Program, with the support of Councillor Dan Doran, Division 11.
The grant will buy a Hudl Focus Flex, a portable game camera.
The camera follows the play on its own, so no volunteer has to stand behind it and film.
Coaches will use the footage to teach skills and plan training. Players will watch their own games and improve faster. Families who cannot make it to the court will be able to follow the season.
The camera will belong to the club and be shared across teams and seasons.
This is the third grant the club has received with Cr Doran's support. In 2025, a Community Projects Program grant paid for new shot clocks, and a Discretionary Grant paid for new basketballs and training uniforms.
Thank you to Cr Dan Doran and the Division 11 office for their amazing support, and to the City of Gold Coast for backing junior basketball in Varsity Lakes.
