Saturday Skills Trial — Participation Waiver & Liability Release
By registering for and participating in the Varsity Vipers Saturday Skills Trial, I acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions:
1. Acknowledgement of Risk
I understand that participation in basketball training, skills sessions, drills, and related activities involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:
- Physical injury (such as sprains, strains, fractures, concussion, or other injuries)
- Collision with other participants
- Accidental contact with equipment or facilities
- Exertion-related illness
I voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation in the Saturday Skills Trial.
2. Medical Fitness
I confirm that the participant:
- Is physically fit and able to participate in basketball activities.
- Does not have any medical condition that would prevent safe participation.
- Will notify the club of any injury or medical concern prior to participation.
I authorise Varsity Vipers staff and coaches to seek medical treatment in the event of an emergency where I cannot be contacted.
3. Release & Indemnity
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release and hold harmless Varsity Vipers Basketball Club, its coaches, volunteers, staff, committee members, and venue providers from any and all liability, claims, demands, or causes of action arising out of or related to participation in the Saturday Skills Trial.
4. Code of Conduct
I acknowledge that:
- Participants are expected to follow all instructions provided by coaches and staff.
- Respectful behaviour toward coaches, staff, officials, and other participants is required.
- Varsity Vipers reserves the right to remove any participant who behaves in an unsafe or inappropriate manner.
5. Photography & Media Consent
I acknowledge that photographs and/or videos may be taken during the session for promotional or club communication purposes. I consent to the use of images or footage featuring the participant for Varsity Vipers marketing, social media, website, and promotional materials, unless I advise otherwise in writing.
6. Acceptance
By submitting this registration form, I confirm that:
- I have read and understood this waiver.
- I agree to the terms and conditions outlined above.
- I am the parent/guardian of the participant (if under 18 years of age), or I am over 18 and signing on my own behalf.
